My name is Emma, and I am an exchange student from France, majoring in Architecture. I came to Asia for the first time in August 2024, and I have spent the past six months living in China. During my time here, I had the privilege of becoming an international student ambassador. This opportunity came about thanks to my enthusiasm and hard work in helping to promote the school to my fellow international students. Living in Tianjin has been an incredibly colorful and enriching experience. I’ve had the chance to explore the city, deepen my understanding of architecture, and make many new friends. One of the most enjoyable ways I discovered the city was by going for runs, either in the morning or at night. It was a peaceful way to observe the urban landscape and enjoy the local culture. As an ambassador, I take my responsibilities seriously. I am outgoing, always willing to help, and committed to sharing the unique experience of studying at Tianjin University. In fact, I am proud to be the first French ambassador at TJU. For the second semester of 2025, I will be promoting the university in my home country, France. This role has been a fantastic opportunity for me to bridge cultures and connect with international students. Being bilingual and bicultural in English and French has been a huge advantage in my role as an ambassador. I’ve been able to assist in various ways, such as dubbing videos, participating in new student interviews, helping with French and English subtitle translations for TJU’s introduction videos, and even assisting with grammar checks for university articles in English. One of the most exciting moments for me was presenting the Architecture major during a webinar held in Chinese. The presentation was made possible by a fellow ambassador, whose collaboration allowed me to effectively communicate my work. It was a great reminder that, as a TJU ambassador, anything is possible with teamwork and determination. I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay in China, and I look forward to finding new ways to share my experiences here with others. As I return to France for the second semester, I plan to explore different mediums to communicate the richness of my time in China and the opportunities I’ve had at TJU. I am always available to answer any questions and would be happy to share more about my journey. Welcome to TJU
