Since 2000, the employment rate of graduates from Tianjin University (TJU) has consistently exceeded 98%, positioning the institution among the foremost colleges and universities in China.

Over the past 128 years, the university has nurtured more than 300,000 high-caliber professionals with robust academic foundations and practical expertise. Among its notable alumni are Wang Ch'ung-Hui, the first Chinese jurist at the Hague Tribunal; revolutionary leader Zhang Tailei; economist Ma Yinchu; missile and satellite specialist Wu Ziliang; and Li Xinggang, the chief designer of the Olympic Stadium, known as the "Bird's Nest."

In recent years, the employment pathways for TJU graduates have included positions at prestigious national enterprises such as China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (CPCC), State Grid Corporation (SGC), Shanghai Baosteel Group Corporation, China State Construction Engineering Corporation, China First Automobile Group Corporation, China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company, and China Mobile Communications Corporation. Graduates have also secured roles in reputable private companies, including Huawei Technologies Limited and Myriad Biomedical Electronics Co., as well as multinational corporations such as Procter & Gamble, Siemens, General Electric, and the four leading accounting firms. Additionally, TJU graduates have pursued careers in the public sector as civil servants and employees of government institutions, including the Ministries of Industry and Information Technology, Construction, Transportation, Water Resources, Land and Resources, Public Security, and Foreign Affairs; the General Office of the Central Government; China National Tobacco Corporation; Bureau of Statistics; Meteorological Bureau; and Bureau of Oceanography.

Moreover, TJU graduates are employed by prominent financial institutions, encompassing the three primary national policy banks, five state-owned commercial banks and their branches, as well as various national and local regulatory bodies such as the Securities and Futures Commission, CBRC, CIRC, People's Bank of China, China Development Bank, Export-Import Bank of China, Agricultural Development Bank of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of China, China Construction Bank, along with service in military forces.
