My name is Rida Fatima, and I am from Pakistan. I am currently a second-year Ph.D. student in the Polymer Materials Science and Engineering department at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Tianjin University. In 2024, I was honored to be selected as a Section Leader, which provided me with the opportunity to interact with prospective students from around the world and guide them through various stages of the admissions process. Last year, I co-authored a research paper published in a Q1 journal, marking a significant milestone in my academic career. Additionally, I contributed to a review article that was published in ACS Nano (Q1). These experiences have not only advanced my research but have also allowed me to collaborate with experts in my field, thereby expanding my knowledge and research network. Looking ahead to 2025, I am more determined than ever to achieve new milestones in both my role as an ambassador and as a researcher. My future goals are focused on further assisting students in navigating the application process and ensuring they have a smooth transition into university life. I plan to offer more comprehensive guidance on scholarship opportunities, the visa process, and other crucial aspects of studying abroad. By doing so, I aim to help students avoid common pitfalls and make their university experience much smoother. As a researcher, my ultimate goal is to work on projects that push the boundaries of knowledge and offer practical solutions to real-world challenges. I also intend to collaborate with researchers from different institutions, both within China and internationally, to promote a broader exchange of ideas and innovations. Such collaborations are vital for addressing the complex problems we face in the field of materials science today. With a deep commitment to my academic work and a passion for helping others, I am confident that 2025 will be a year of growth, collaboration, and success.
