On June 14–15, the general training session for volunteers serving the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit and the Summer Davos Forum was held at Tianjin University’s Peiyangyuan Campus. Over 1,200 youth volunteers and faculty advisors from 12 universities across Tianjin gathered for the two-day program, equipping themselves with essential skills to support the upcoming international events.
The training adopted a centralized lecture format, featuring experts from various departments. Key topics included an overview of the SCO Summit, cultural taboos of member states, diplomatic etiquette, confidentiality protocols, and emergency response procedures. Practical sessions on posture, communication norms, and situational simulations further enhanced the volunteers’ professionalism.
Additional sessions were delivered by representatives from the Summer Davos Forum organizing office, offering insights into the forum’s history and agenda. Medical staff from the city’s emergency center conducted live demonstrations of AED use and first-aid techniques. A senior city guide from the Tianjin Bureau of Culture and Tourism introduced key cultural landmarks to help volunteers better present the city to international guests.
Gong Chen, a master’s student from TJU, shared his experience as a volunteer at the Global Digital Economy Conference and presented the university’s volunteer service initiatives. He encouraged his peers to demonstrate the spirit of youth and commitment in their roles.
Through comprehensive and structured training, participants deepened their understanding of the volunteer spirit, including dedication, friendship, mutual help, and progress, while strengthening both teamwork and service capabilities.
