Professor Yang Jiesheng, Chair Professor at the School of Microelectronics, Tianjin University, has been elected a Foreign Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE), one of the highest professional honors in the global engineering community. The CAE announced its 2025 cohort on May 15, recognizing 50 new Fellows and 7 Foreign Fellows. The induction ceremony was held on May 27.
Professor Yang was recognized for his pioneering contributions to the design of low-power radio-frequency and millimeter-wave integrated circuits, as well as his lasting impact on the global development of microelectronics technologies. His academic work has significantly advanced the state of the art in energy-efficient chip design, with wide-ranging applications in communications and sensing systems.
Served as an IEEE Fellow, Yang also holds membership in the Academic Committee of Tianjin University and acts as an advisor to the Strategic Development Committee of the School of Microelectronics. In addition, he is a Fellow of the Academy of Engineering Singapore and the Singapore National Academy of Science. His election to the Canadian Academy of Engineering further underscores his distinguished international standing in the field.
This recognition highlights the growing global influence of scholars engaged in high-level research across borders, and reflects the international visibility of research conducted at Tianjin University.
