On March 29, Tianjin University’s Tiankai Higher Education Innovation Park was filled with creativity as the 18th Tianjin Songzheng "Challenge Cup" Academic and Technological Innovation Competition unfolded under the theme “130 Years of Tianjin University History: Embracing Future Challenges.” Over 100 teams from 26 colleges showcased their ingenuity, blending passion with Tianjin University’s spirit of innovation, creating a vibrant tribute to the university’s 130th anniversary.
The competition featured a wide range of projects in fields such as artificial intelligence, new energy, and advanced materials, while also reflecting progress in contemporary philosophy and social sciences. Interdisciplinary collaborations bridged critical areas like intelligent manufacturing, rural revitalization, and ecological governance, demonstrating the forward-looking vision of Tianjin University students.
A team from the School of Microelectronics explored RF chips, integrating artificial intelligence with multiphysics coupling models to develop a precise navigation system for microscopic environments. “Each algorithm optimization feels like scaling a new technological peak. We’re determined to pioneer a path for chip innovation!” shared a passionate team member.
Another group focused on the “last mile” of rural revitalization. The team’s digital solutions for rural tourism seamlessly combined technology with intangible cultural heritage, sparking innovation in the countryside. This balance of exploring the cosmos while staying rooted in serving the people vividly illustrates Tianjin University's motto: Seeking Truth from Facts.
As a hub of scientific and technological innovation in Tianjin, Tiankai Higher Education Innovation Park provided fertile ground for this youth-driven showcase. Here, policy support and hands-on experimentation came together, allowing young innovators to apply their knowledge to real-world challenges. Marking the university’s 130th anniversary, Li Yi'ang, Secretary of the Youth League Committee, emphasized the importance of integrating education, technology, and talent to expand practical learning opportunities.
