As Tianjin University (formely Peiyang University) approaches its 130th anniversary, we are pleased to announce the "Memories of Tianjin University Through Time" submission campaign. Alumni from home and abroad, especially those who have experienced the days on Weijin Road and witnessed the chimes of Peiyang Hall, are warmly welcomed to join us to awaken the archives of time and share your cherished memories, heartfelt blessings, and stories with your alma mater.
Whether through words, photos, audio, or video, every contribution will become a valuable testament to Tianjin University’s 130-year legacy. Let us join hands to document the glorious era and celebrate the historic moment together!
I. Submission Guidelines
Submission Period
March 20, 2025 – August 30, 2025 (based on email submission time)
Eligible Participants
Tianjin University faculty, students, and alumni worldwide, as well as individuals from all walks of life who care about and support Tianjin University.
Language Requirements
Submissions can be in Chinese or English.
Themes and Content
Focusing on the theme of " 130 Years of Fame, A Nation's Rising Flame," submissions should highlight the grand journey of Tianjin University’s 130-year development. We invite contributions that explore three dimensions:
Youthful Memories: Touching stories from your student years, inspiring mentors, and campus transformations.
Anniversary Blessings: Heartfelt blessings on its 130th anniversary
People and Events of Tianjin University: Personal accounts of witnessing historic moments or stories of outstanding alumni.
II. Submission Formats and Requirements
Written and Photographic Submissions
A series of historically significant photos, accompanied by a narrative of 300–1000 words.
Video Submissions
Short documentaries or oral histories (3–5 minutes) showcasing your stories of Tianjin University or sending anniversary blessings.
Format: MP4 or MOV, resolution not lower than 1920×1080, no watermarks, and free of commercial advertisements.
Other Formats
Innovative submissions such as comics, AI-generated works, or audio stories are also welcome.
III. Submission Process
Submission Method
Please send your work to publicpress@tju.edu.cn.
The email subject should follow the format: “Anniversary Essay + Submission Category + Title + Name” (e.g., Anniversary Essay – Photo Series – Chimes of Library – Name).
Author Information
For faculty, students, and alumni: Include your name, current major and year (for current students), or your graduation department and year (for alumni), current employer and position, contact information, and mailing address.
For individuals outside the Tianjin University community: Include your name, current employer and position, contact information, and mailing address.
IV. Usage of Submissions
Selected works will be published under the author’s name on Tianjin University’s 130th Anniversary website, the university’s official English website, and its various official English-language social media platforms.
Submission implies consent to the above usage.
V. Additional Notes
1. The contributor (or organization) shall guarantee that the submitted work is original and possesses independent, complete, and unambiguous copyright. In case of disputes arising from infringement of copyright in the submitted work, the contributor (or organization) shall bear all legal responsibilities, which are unrelated to the organizing unit. Submissions from previous anniversary essay solicitations cannot be resubmitted.
2. The contributor (or organization) retains the right of attribution for the work. With mutual consent, the organizing unit may make appropriate modifications to the work. The property rights within the copyright of the work belong to the organizing unit, including but not limited to publication, promotion and exhibition, online platform dissemination, and other related uses, without additional payment of royalties or separate notification to the contributor (or organization). All contributors are deemed to have agreed to the above rules.
3. In case of disputes between the author and the organizing unit in terms of modifications and the use of the work, both parties may resolve them through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation.
