On December 21, the 10th Qian Duansheng Law Research Award Ceremony was held in Beijing. Professor Sun Youhai, Dean of the Law School at Tianjin University, received second prize for his paper Research on Environmental Regulation of the Green "Belt and Road" Initiative, published in Chinese Journal of Law (Issue 6, 2017).
The Qian Duansheng Law Research Award is one of the most prestigious accolades in China’s legal research field and is often referred to as the “Nobel Prize in Law.” Established in 2006, the award honored the significant contributions of Qian Duansheng, a prominent contemporary political scientist, legal scholar, and educator. It recognizes academic excellence across various forms of scholarly work, including books, journal articles, and policy reports, with stringent standards for quality, innovation, and academic value. A total of 37 research achievements were honored in the 10th award cycle.
Professor Sun Youhai has dedicated his career to the study and practice of environmental and resource protection law, encompassing teaching, research, legislation, and judicial activities. He has published over 200 papers in journals such as Chinese Journal of Law and Legal Studies and authored more than 20 academic monographs. In recent years, he has led more than 40 research projects, including three major projects and one key project funded by the National Social Science Foundation of China.
