Included within the admission letter combo is a special gift the university prepared for all 2021 freshmen, a book titled Cultural Map of Tianjin launched at the same ceremony.
Edited by the university’s professor Feng Jicai, also a renowned writer and cultural scholar in China, and complied by Feng Jicai Institute of Literature and Art, the book is composed of a pocket book and a Tianjin Cultural Guide Map, and presents a general introduction to Tianjin, the Northern port city with a rich history and culture, from aspects of natural wonders, cultural relics, folk customs, local scenery, western style buildings, celebrities, art museum venues and so on.
"To know and get connected with the city where you go to college will provide you with more city experience and cultural experience that are indispensable to your life. It not only opens your eyes to the outside world, enriches your life and interests, but also helps shape human being’s most noble spirit, that is, the sense of social responsibility," said Prof. Feng Jicai at the launching ceremony of the new book. It is his sincere wish and anticipation that college students all over the country will "love the city where I have my college life"!
President Jin Donghan compared the book to “a golden key” that unlocks Tianjin city culture. He believes that the "golden key" will help students quickly get acquainted with the city life and culture which constitutes an important part of the university charm.
Apart from the book, Tianjin University’s admission letter combo also contains a school emblem, a hand-painted campus map and an admission manual.
