Hello everyone. I am Katarína Sládečková from Slovakia, and I am studying at Tianjin University in China. Today I want to talk about my life as a foreigner in China.
Going to and seeing China was my dream from childhood, but I had never expected that the European and Chinese cultures could be so much different. It is not only about the languages, but also about the behaviors of the people and their ways of living.
I think every foreigner will have a cultural shock for the first few months, and after that, it depends on him, how fast and to what extent he will adapt.

Maybe it is because it was my dream from childhood to go to China. Hence, I adapted to living in China very fast.
I think anyone who comes to China and adapts to the Chinese atmosphere will fall in love with this country. It is not only about the wide opportunities which China offers having a very strong economy, but also about the people's behaviors.
China is a very safe country, where you can walk in the night without fear. Here you can follow your dreams to become anyone and anything you want and be surrounded by nice people.
As a student, you need to do a lot of hard work while studying in China. The teachers also help all students a lot to find their strengths and improve them. Chinese university provides a bundle of opportunities for the students' further growth. Personally, I had a good chance while studying in china to improve my translation skills, wrote articles for our school newspapers, participated in different activities and competitions, and promote living in China and studying at Tianjin University.
While living in China, you get a chance to meet nice, kind and helpful people. And maybe to feel as much kindness and humanity as you have never felt before. China is like a very big family, which is anytime ready to help you, support you or even make you a better day. Mostly you will not feel alone as a foreigner as you will get opportunities to become part of this amazing Chinese family.
Even I am not Chinese, China is always in my heart which fills my heart with joy, happiness and satisfaction. I usually say China is not only the country where I study. China has a deep place in my heart, and the love for this country is circulating in my veins.
