Tianjin University Holds 7th Annual Design Exhibition

The 7th Annual Design Exhibition of Tianjin University is in full swing at the Zhengdong Library on Peiyangyuan Campus. Jointly held by the industrial design major from the School of Mechanical Engineering and the innovative design and excellent management team from Xuanhuai School, the exhibition takes “Light to Lights” as the theme.

Visitors can get a glimpse of many ingenious industrial design works, for example, customized masks, Bunny Robots that can guide parents to take care of babies scientifically and Surgical Robotics Console.

Industrial design is a subject of industrial product design based on engineering, aesthetics and economics. An excellent industrial designer, with expertise in engineering, humanities and arts, is hailed as the “Industrial Painter” who is able to improve people’s ways of life with his designs.

Since 2015, the annual design exhibition has been held annually to display students’ innovative designs to the public. The exhibition of this year has gathered 114 outstanding design works and was completed by students in a short period of one month from data collection, exhibition site planning, visual designs, writing of documents and exhibition move-in.

“The exhibition drew forth students’ full sense of design. With it, we expect to see students convert inspiration and mundane things into remarkable designs,” said the teacher in charge of the exhibition.
