Peiyang Symphony Orchestra Wins First Prize in National Art Show

Peiyang Symphony Orchestra won the first prize of the instrumental music group with "Beethoven: First Symphony, First Movement" in the Sixth National College Students' Art Show held in Chengdu.It is the only student orchestra from Tianjin Municipality that was selected for the national live performance.

Peiyang Symphony Orchestra was the first symphony orchestra composed of college students in Tianjin Municipality. It has more than 70 members, all of whom are amateur undergraduate or graduate musicians. As a highly influential college art group in China, the Orchestra has held many special concerts in different cities, such as Beijing, Hong Kong, Jinan, Hangzhou and Chengdu.

In the Art Show this year, TJU delegation won 3 first prizes, 2 second prizes,1 third prize, the President's Style Award and the Excellent Organization Award among the 12 art shows in five major art performance categories, including vocal, instrumental, dance, drama and recitation.

With the theme of "Hard Work, Innovation and Dedication", the Six National College Students' Art Show sponsored by the Ministry of Education attracted more than 6,800 teachers and students from 198 universities and colleges across the country to attend. It is the most influential art event for college students in China.
