Choral Concert in Praise of Golden Era

On the evening of May 15, a choral concert themed “I Sing for You Forever”presented by Peiyang Chorus was staged in Tianjin Concert Hall. Hundreds of music experts and audience from all walks of life came to enjoy this audio-visual feast.

At the concert, Peiyang Chorus performed more than a dozen choral masterpieces from both home and abroad, including foreign songs,like Selling Peanut, Butterfly and Arrival of Spring, Shandong Province folk song Cha Hua Xie, Inner Mongolia folk song Weilat Dance Rhyme and Ba Jun Zan, contemporary Chinese chorus Naxi Old Tune-Searching and Land of Dreams and world chorus masterpiece Downpour.

Songs composed or adapted by Peiyang Chorus were also well received by the audience.

It is worth mentioning that Peiyang Chorus composed three songs as a special gift for the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). The name of the songs are Whispering to My Motherland, Flying Party Flag, and I Love You, China.

Peiyang Chorus of TJU developed from Peiyang University Choir which dated back to over one century ago. Founded in 1895, Peiyang Chorus has developed from a student art group to a team with high professional standards and served for many times as the national delegate to compete in the international art events.It has won 7 gold medals in international chorus competitions, and was awarded the honorable title of “World Choir” by International Federation of Choral Music.
