TJU, Aier Eye Hospital Sign Coop. Agreement

On May 18, Tianjin University (TJU) and Aier Eye Hospital Group signed a cooperation agreement, vowing to promote joint effortsin talent cultivation, scientific research, faculty construction, health-care service and other fields.

The two sides will share available platforms for scientific research, laboratory installations and medical records. A joint system of worldwide talent introduction will be established, which, in turn, would promote the construction of an intelligent medical teaching demonstration platform, a research center of intelligent medicine engineering, and a world-class academic journal.

In recent years, adhering to the discipline layout of “consolidating engineering, strengthening science, revitalizing humanities and developing medicine”, TJU has initiated the country’s first undergraduate program of intellectual medical engineering and built a number of medical R&D platforms. Aier Eye Hospital Group, as the world’s largest eye clinic group with the most diagnosis and treatment cases, owns three listed companies in China’s mainland, Europe and Southeast Asia. Together, TJU and Aier will probe a new school-industry cooperation pattern.
