Tianjin University Holds 2021 Spring Job Fair

On April 2, Tianjin University held the annual Spring Job Fair for graduates in the gymnasium on its Weijin Road Campus. Two hundred and forty companies from 17 provinces including Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Hebei, Sichuan, Jiangsu, etc. attended the fair, providing a total of nearly 4,000 recruitment positions. About 1,000 graduates attended the job fair.

Employers were deployed to special zones like chemical materials, civil engineering, mechanical automation, communications and computers, and biopharmaceutical industries according to industry classification. A consulting area was set up to handle students' queries about employment policy, army enlist and officer recruitment.

State-owned enterprises such as China Electronics Technology Group Corporation, China State Construction Engineering Corporation, China State Shipbuilding Corporation, Ziguangyun, and Inspur Group were found to be most popular among job-seeking graduates, and high-tech innovation companies such as CanSinoBIO and Rianlon were also favored by students.

Up to now, 7,500 employers have come to Tianjin University to recruit graduates, with 4,900 companies hosting online job sessions and 2,600 or so through offline job fairs. The companies offered 75,000 job positions in total.

Tianjin University takes great efforts to help students shape their job-hunting intentions and boost their employability. It introduces a career assessment system to help students know their strength and weakness in job seeking, and hosts events like the "Career Experience Weekend " where students are offered opportunities to visit enterprises and get first-hand information. Students can also find employment counseling that guides them in terms of resume composing, interview preparation, and even subsidies for students who want to set up their own business.
