School of Education Holds Online Doctoral Dissertation Defense

At 19:00 on July 19, 2020, the School of Education held an online doctoral defense for doctoral candidates, Xu Shijian and Zhang Hui. The defense meeting was chaired by Professor Shi Weiping from East China Normal University. Researcher Jiang Dayuan and Professor Zeng Tianshan form the Institute of Vocational and Technical Education Center of the Ministry of Education, Professor Wang Rong of Peking University, Professor Yan Guangfen, Professor Zhou Zhigang and Professor Pan Haisheng from Tianjin University were the defense members. Director He Fang from the university’s Degree Office attended the defense. Professor Yan Guangfen, Dean of the School of Education delivered a welcome speech. More than 40 postgraduates presented at the meeting as observers.

Professor Yang Jin and Professor Zha Qiang as supervisors of the doctoral candidates gave a brief introduction to the learning experience and thesis content of the two candidates.

Xu Shijian reported about "Research on Fiscal and Tax Policies Encouraging Enterprises to Participate in Vocational Education", and Zhang Hui's topic was "Research on the Function and Realization of Entrepreneurship Education Organization in Higher Vocational Colleges". Seven defense members evaluated the research review, research design, thesis structure, research conclusions and innovation points, and then put forward revisions and related questions.

After the thesis defense, the defense committee discussed and voted, reaching an agreement that Xu Shijian and Zhang Hui passed the defense and were to be granted a doctorate in education.

The defense meeting lasted for four and a half hours.
