School of Civil Engineering Holds Training Seminar on News Writing

The School of Civil Engineering held a training seminar on news writing on October 23. Professor Han Qinghua, Party Secretary and Dean of the School, attended the training and delivered a welcoming speech. Mr. Jiao Defang from the university Publicity Department was invited to present a lecture themed as "News Practice and Media Literacy" for teachers and students.

Professor Han Qinghua pointed out that communication work was very important for academic exchange and culture conservation. He hoped that the training would help teachers and students enhance their communication skills and introduce the school to the outside world in a better and more efficient way.

Mr. Jiao Defang introduced the practical skills of news photography, and basic knowledge about campus news writing, like the common news types such as conference briefings, activity reports, features, scientific and technological achievement promotion, etc. He also analyzed the related knowledge of media literacy from the aspects of uniqueness, value, interests and timeliness and shared some wonderful news writing with the audience.

Mr. Liu Baolong, Deputy Party Secretary of the School also attended the training.
