Yan Fangchao: Being a Responsible, Honest and Grateful entrepreneur

Yan Fangchao graduated from Tianjin University’s School of Mechanical Engineering with a bachelor's degree in thermal energy and power engineering in 2008 and a master's degree in power machinery and engineering in 2011, and has become a PhD candidate in power machinery and engineering since 2015.Now, he works as the general manager of Tianjin Bool Technology Co., Ltd. He is also an honoree of Tianjin’s First Youth Innovation (Entrepreneurship, Excellence) Competition,“Excellent Youth of Xiqing District”and "Outstanding Entrepreneur" honored by the Youth League Committee of the Xiqing District and the Binhai New Area Talent Leadership Group respectively, and a winner of Rianlon Innovation and Entrepreneurship Scholarship of Tianjin University.

After graduating with a master's degree, Yan Fangchao determinedly started his own business. He has experienced setbacks, refusal and failure and paid the price for entrepreneurship—time, energy and money. The cruel market, however, did not bring him down. Seizing new opportunities from the market, he made a comeback and founded Tianjin Bool Technology Co., Ltd.

The company mainly produces two product modules, i.e. Monitoring and Control Platform for Intelligent Connected Vehicle and Diagnostic and Testing Platform for Vehicle Exhaust Emission. In company running, Yan adopts the philosophy of honesty and responsibility, and makes unremitting efforts in research and innovation. At present, the company strives for the R&D of new products and takes further steps in the field of auto-data products based on steady development of existing business, so as to provide diversified products and services for customers.

Up to now, Bool Technology Co., Ltd has grown from a small company with only a few employees at the beginning to a well-claimed enterprise in the industry with over one hundred staffs, and is undertaking a new round of financing.

“It is only by committing to innovation that can we achieve greater development,”Yan Fangchao often says. As one of the tens of thousands of young talents engaging in innovation and entrepreneurship in China, Yan is riding on the waves of the era and moving forward vigorously with a visionary thinking of technological innovation and the courage to make extraordinary efforts for entrepreneurship

Yan Fangchao attributes his and the company’s achievements to the assistance policies Tianjin municipal government has implemented for enterprises, to the recognition and substantial support from customers, and to the guidance and cultivation of his teachers and Tianjin University, his alma mater.

For years, he has stuck to the school motto—Seek Truth from Facts. While devoting himself to his career, Yan Fangchao keeps his alma mater in his heart and offers help to its educational development. In 2020, Tianjin Bool Technology Co., Ltd donated 100,000 yuan to the Su Wanhua Educational Fund of Tianjin University. In the future, Yan Fangchao as well as his company will move forward together with Tianjin University, and makes his own contribution to the educational development of the university.
