Second Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Ends

On October 1, the final of the second Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, marking the 125th anniversary of Tianjin University, was held on Peiyangyuan Campus.

24 alumni-led entrepreneurship projects related to Key & Core Technologies and cutting-edge technologies like new energy, artificial intelligence, health and medical care, new materials and so on entered the final and fell evenly into two categories, namely the start-up group and the growth group. Each project presented a roadshow and defense. The projects were ranked by an on-site scoring system to win the grand prize, the first prize, the second prize, the third prize and the promising prize.

Beijing Aerospace Satelliteherd Science and Technology Co., Ltd. won the Grand Prize of the growth group and Huaxin Intelligent (Zhuhai) Technology Co., Ltd.  won the Grand Prize of the start-up group. They will be awarded more than 10 million RMB investments.

Aiming at discovering and cultivating excellent alumni entrepreneurs, Tianjin University Alumni Association initiated the competition funded by the university alumni who would provide potential alumni entrepreneurs with financial support, social resources and technological collaboration.

Zhao Lei, the founder of the Beijing Aerospace Satelliteherd Science and technology Co., Ltd. said, “We are set to build world-class aerospace infrastructures to make satellite better and easier to use." As the first company across China that provides commercial satellite telemetry and command service, the company has provided commercial satellite telemetry and command and connected services to 60 satellites. As Zhao put it, the company was going to provide satellite big data service to global users in the future.

According to Chen Donghua, the founder of the Huaxin Intelligent (Zhuhai) Technology Co., Ltd., the company was a hard tech company with world-leading capacity to design high precision MEMS inertial chips. “Our company provides clients with high precision MEMS inertial chips, inertial navigation modules and integrated navigation industry solution,” Chen said.

Relying on the fund established by TJU alumni, Tianjin University Alumni Association will introduce the award-winning projects to relevant enterprises, provide investment and financing services for fund-raising institutions and projects, and for Industry Listed Companies and funds. The association will also synergize projects and policies for attracting businesses and investments implemented by local governments, coordinate fundraising channels between fund institutions and government guide funds. All the project members for the final are offered free admission to Peiyang BegoniaBusiness Acceleration Camp and to thePeiyang Begonia Innovation and Entrepreneurship coursesystem.
