Hong-mei Shi, General Manager of Zhongpu Culture Communication (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., donated oneinfrared fever screening machine, 2,000 bottles of 84 disinfectant, and 1,000 masks to Tianjin University’s College of Management and Economics (CoME) where she began to study for the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) in 2016.
Miss Shi also actively responded to the call of the EMBA Alumni Association and donated 2,000 yuan to Hubei province, the hardest-hit area during the epidemic, 2,000 yuan to the EMBA International Alliance, and more than 3,000 masks to international students from more than 10 countries around the world. Meanwhile, she presented to some TJU alumni and nearly 200 friends each a free anti-epidemic gift package containing masks, disinfectants and tea, the total value of the gift packages reaching 100,000 yuan, and offered huge discounts to medical workers who consumed in her store.
Miss Shi used to be a senior executive in the marketing department of a state-owned enterprise. Ten years of work experience made her proficient in market business with superb execution ability and keen market insights. In 2016, she chose to study for the EMBA in Tianjin University where she was exposed to deep theoretical knowledge and felt the vigor of entrepreneurs from her classmates. Eventually, Miss Shi decided to open her own business and created her own tea brand based on the tea culture from her hometown Yunnan Province.
Miss Shi also pays great attention to public welfare. She helped establish a cooperative relationship between CoME and Fengyu Town, a small town in Yunnan Province to jointly improve the local primary education quality. Each year, a volunteer team comprised of TJU teachers, students and even alumni went to teach art, music, calligraphy, and dance at the local primary schools and junior high schools. With the support of Miss Shi and other alumni, some children from Fengyu Town walked out of the mountains and visited Tianjin University, inspiring their dreams to have higher education.
Miss Shi strives to involve more companies and entrepreneurs to join the education-improving program in Fengyu town. So far, she has successfully brought in China Communications Construction and R & F Group. “I believe people with spiritual pursuits and strength will unite together and burst out infinite strength in helping more children in poor areas realize their dreams,” Shi noted.
