On May 12, 2020, the “Innovation Base of Earthquake Engineering Comprehensive Simulation” held the 4th“Cloud Report”, and invited Prof.Giuseppe Lacidogna from Polytechnic University of Turin,Italy to present online a report entitled “Civil and Monumental Masonry Buildings: Damage Analysis by an Acoustic Emission Technique Approach”.
Prof.Giuseppe Lacidogna shared the latest achievements of his team in the research about structural health monitoring based on acoustic emission technology, and took the Asinelli Tower of Bologna as an example to explain the application of their research achievements in historic masonry buildings.
Prof.Giuseppe Lacidogna also conducted an online discussion with the audience after the report.
A total of 151 teachers and students from Tianjin University, Guangxi University, Civil Aviation University of China, Hebei University and Tianjin Chengjian University participated this “Cloud Report”.
Giuseppe Lacidogna achieved the National Academic Qualification in Italy as a Full Professor of Structural Mechanics. He was selected as Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences, Engineering Division, Brussels, Belgium in 2018. Prof. Lacidogna is currently a Member of the Academic Board of the Doctorate Course of Politecnico di Torino. He is also among the Editorial Board of several international journals, and is an active member of several international associations like AIMETA, IA-FraMCoS, SEM, and RILEM. He received a Best Paper Award in the 10th International Conference on Structural Faults & Repair in 2008, and, in 2018, a Certificate Merit Award from the European Society for Experimental Mechanics (EuraSEM). He has been included in the "Top Italian Scientists List".
