Five New Disciplines Approved for Self-examination Degree Program Authorization

Five new disciplines of Tianjin University were newly approved as self-examination degree program authorization, announced by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council on March 30.

The new disciplines for self-examination degree program authorization include level 1 disciplinary doctoral degree authorization in Marxist theory, level 1 disciplinary master’s degree authorization in psychology, foreign languages and literature, and food science and engineering, as well as master’s degree authorization in China' first rescue medical interdiscipline.

As one of the first batch of 20 colleges and universities with self-examination degree program authorization, Tianjin University has a total of 30 level 1 disciplines with self-examination doctoral degree authorization, 42 level 1 disciplines with master’s degree authorization, 4 categories of professional doctoral degree authorization and 23 categories of master’s degree authorization.
