I have been living in Tianjin, for almost 4 years. The city has always been dynamic and busy and never sleeps. However, since the epidemic outbreak, Tianjin has turned to be empty and quiet.
At first, we were all not aware how to cope with the hard situation. Then, I realized that we are not fighting this virus alone, we are fighting together with all the Chinese people. I realized that we are living in a historical moment which we will tell our children and grandchildren about. Hence, I started writing about this situation, reflecting the brave role Chinese people and government played during this hard situation. China has taught the whole world a lesson on responsibility and humanity.
When I got a scholarship from Tianjin University, everyone congratulated me on being admitted to one of the best universities in the world. Now, I clearly know what means to be a student in a prestigious university like Tianjin University. Since the first day of the epidemic outbreak, Tianjin University offered us with all kind of support we need. Teachers keep in close touch and provide timely guidance for us to live through the hard times. The school authorities visited students living outside the campus, and helped them purchase some daily necessities.
Moreover, I learnt that the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology provided technical support for a local medical protective clothing manufacturer to double its efficiency.
I love my university not only for the academic education it gives me but also for the sense of responsibility, courage and love it shows during this special period.
