20 Academicians Ponder the Future of Engineering Technology at Tianjin University

On 18 December, 20 academicians gathered at Tianjin University, attending the Third Conference of the Academic Committee, an Expert Consultation group, organized by the Tianjin Academy of China Engineering Technology Development Strategy (Tianjin Academy).

Heads of related departments of the Tianjin Municipal People’s Government, as well as academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chinese Academy of Sciences attended the conference.

On April 2, 2018, the Tianjin Municipal People’s Government signed a framework agreement with the Chinese Academy of Engineering to jointly develop the “Tianjin Academy” and held an opening ceremony, which symbolized the official establishment of the Tianjin Academy, affiliated with Tianjin University. Tianjin Academy focuses on engineering technology strategy consultation, and regards building a national high-end scientific and technological think tank as its core task, making Tianjin attract high-end talents of engineering technology and forming China’s engineering technology innovation hubs.

The conference discussed the 2020 consulting projects report. A total of 12 project contacts, professors from Tianjin University and Nankai University, gave reports respectively on Intelligence Plus, Atmospheric Control, Environment Sustainable Development, and New Chemical Engineering Industry.

The representative results of the 2018 consulting research projects were also reported at the conference. A total of 6 project representatives from Tianjin University and the Tianjin Aviation Equipment Industry Academy gave detailed reports on the research of Tianjin’s aviation equipment industry, green energy chemical engineering industry, and new energy power generation. Afterwards, academicians freely discussed new ideas.
