Seven Laboratories Selected into Social Science Laboratories in Tianjin Institutions of Higher Education

Recently, Tianjin Municipal Education Commission announced the results of 2019 list of social science laboratories in institutions of higher education in Tianjin. Among twenty-one laboratories selected, seven laboratories were from Tianjin University, ranking the first in terms of the number of institutions selected.

The seven institutions from Tianjin University included laboratories of supply chain management, modern urban governance, creative urban design, innovation application of intelligent justice, educational quality and learning science, energy engineering and management, and suicide psychology and behavior research. These institutions cover various disciplines, including management science and engineering, business management, public management, urban planning, law, education, and psychology. These laboratories conduct research on social science adopting technical methods comprehensively including big data analysis, deep learning, computer graphics, motion detection, remote sensing and GIS, and computational experimental methods.

In the construction of platforms in institutions of higher education in Tianjin, Tianjin University has seven key research centers of philosophy and social sciences, three think tanks in institutions of higher education, seven social science laboratories, which constitutes multi-platform system of humanities and social sciences with fundamental research, consultation service, and innovation of methods.
