Representatives of High School Principals from Sichuan and Yunnan Gather at CoME

From April 30th to May 2nd, 2019, the College of Management and Economics (CoME) successfully held the Principal Summit where some principals from Sichuan and Yunnan top-ranking high schools gathered together.

The summit aims to introduce CoME to the principals, especially to promote the advantages the disciplines offered and create a communication platform between CoME and high schools in Sichuan and Yunnan provinces.

On the morning of May 1st, the summit forum was held in the Science Library lecture hall on the Weijin Road Campus. Thirty-two principals and representatives from twenty-two well-known high schools and educational institutions in Sichuan and Yunnan provinces attended the summit.

Shu-xin Wang, the Vice President of Tianjin University extended a warm welcome to the principals and appreciated their efforts for cultivating excellent students. He then introduced TJU’s effort to become a "Double First-Class" university and its exploration in emerging engineering education. Wang hoped to further strengthen the cooperation and exchange between the university and the famous high schools of Sichuan and Yunnan through this summit.

Bin Li, Chief of Tianjin University’s Admission Office delivered a report with "The Idea of A University and the Ideal University" as the title, combining with the growth and development of Sichuan and Yunnan students at TJU, to explain CoME’s educational concept and practice. He said that CoME students coming from Sichuan and Yunnan province would enjoy a better admission policy and a specially tailored cultivation plan.

Bao-feng Huo, Dean of CoME gave a theme report on " Reshaping Business in the New Era", and systematically explained the history and development of the Business Department and introduced the college faculty development, curriculum reform, and talent training policies.

Wei Mao, the Vice Principal of Shishi High School of Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, made several suggestions on "All-around connection", "Whole-process connection", "Whole-time connection", "All-staff connection" and "All-needed connection" for CoME and expected that Tianjin University teachers and staff visit the high schools and enhance students' awareness of the university.

Kun Fu, the Vice Principal of the First High School of Qujing, Yunnan Province, gave a speech, hoping to build communication platforms and achieve two-way communication mechanism of "Students come to TJU, TJU comes to the campus". He also looked forward to CoME’s plan to expand enrollment in the Yunnan Province.
