On March 15, 2019, the "Smart Supply Chain Innovation and Application Research" project was officially initiated at Tianjin University. It is funded by the National Social Science Fund'.
Professor Liu Wei-hua, from the College of Management and Economics (CoME) presided over the launch ceremony.
Yuan Ying-jin, the vice president of Tianjin University, welcomed the experts at the meeting and thanked them for their support of Tianjin University’s scientific research project. He emphasized that China's economic development had entered an era of high-quality development. “As a strategic industry that enhances the quality and efficiency of the national economy, the smart supply chain will play an important role in the high-quality development of the economy”, Yuan said.
Yuan Shi-jun, Director of Tianjin Academy of Social Sciences Planning Office made three suggestions for project work in his speech, namely, to build up high-quality consciousness, to improve study methods and to be on schedule.
Bao-feng Huo, Dean of CoME, gave a general introduction to CoME, pointing out that one of the important tasks of CoME is to do research beneficial to both the country and the people a part of which are major social science projects “We look forward to conducting more extensive research in the future.”
Liu Wei-hua, the project's chief expert at Tianjin University, gave a detailed introduction to the project, including its significance and social value, its overall framework and expected goals. Liu also laid out the arrangements for the upcoming work.
A seminar was then held where experts discussed about the research content of the project and its future development path.
Deng-cai He, the vice chairman of the China Logistics Purchasing Federation of the project team and Zhang Jun-yan, Director of the Humanities and Social Sciences Division of Tianjin University and director of the Office of Arts and Cultural Construction also attended the ceremony.
