According to the agreements, the parties will integrate and utilize each other’s resources, and carry out comprehensive cooperation in terms of strategic decision-making consultations, scientific cooperation, the application of research achievements, and the formation of an innovative service platform, talent cultivation and exchange.
The TJU-Zhejiang Research Institute (Graduate School) will be built in Ningbo to promote the construction of a world-class research and industrialized platform which focuses on the basic research for application and industrialization in the following fields: energy chemistry, new materials of chemical engineering, biological medicine, and environmental protection from the chemical industry.
The Institute (Graduate School) will house four research centers including: Energy Chemistry, Chemical Engineering New Materials, Biological Medicine, and Chemical Engineering Security and Environmental Protection. Tianjin University will take full advantage of its talents, scientific research, cultural inheritance and international cooperation to form an implementing mechanism, which will feature collaborative innovation and mutual development, in order to develop the institute (Graduate School) into a base that plays a leading role in the research and development of core technologies, pools talents in the field of chemical engineering, cultivates innovative talents and rear high-end industries.
The construction of the Graduate School will commence after the completion of the Research Institute. Masters and doctors will be cultivated to meet the developing needs of Ningbo industries.
The TJU-Shaoxing Research Institute will be built in the Shangyu District, Shaoxing City. The Institute will give full play to Tianjin University’s advantaged disciplines, such as chemical engineering, and focus on two main issues —— upgrading traditional industries and nurturing emerging industries, as well as paying attention to the basic research for application and industrialization of high-end fine chemical engineering, modern medicine, new materials and chemical engineering security and environmental protection.
Initially, three centers and a park will be constructed: the Research Center of Fine Chemical Engineering and Advantaged Materials, the Research Center of Biological Medicine, Research and Training Center of Chemical Engineering Security and the Environmental Protection, and Industry Incubating Park.
