On September 20, eighty students and teachers from the Dagang Oilfield Secondary Middle School took a fieldtrip to visit Tianjin University’s School of Electrical and Information Engineering.
The visitors first attended a welcome ceremony. Fang Ming, the deputy director of Tianjin University’s Admission Office gave a systematic and thorough introduction of the University, its history, schools and disciplines, faculty and admission policies in particular. At the end of his lecture, Fang encouraged students to study hard and go to their dream colleges. He also extended his warm welcome for them to apply to Tianjin University.
The visitors were also invited to visit some laboratories, like the Mitsubishi Electric automation laboratory and the smart grip key laboratory, getting some general knowledge of the working principles of lab equipment and scientific achievements of the labs.
The fieldtrip was mainly supported by the School of Electrical and Information Engineering, which offered an excellent platform for quality-oriented education of middle school students. Such visits aim to provide middle school students with information about universities and majors. It’s also an important form for universities and middle schools to make joint efforts in educating creatively.
