The Tianjin University teams won one first prize, one second prize and three third prizes in the sixth New Chemical Experiment Design and Chemical Experiment Skills Contest held at the South China University of Technology (SCUT) from July 12thto 14th. Nine students from the Chemistry Department in TJU’s School of Science comprised the team and competed with another 29 teams from nine universities of the Excellence 9 (E9) league that was established in 2010 and dedicated to the cultivation of excellent innovative talents. Tianjin University is a member of the E9 League.
This contest is sponsored by E9, and held once a year by nine universities in turn since 2014. It aims at showing the quality and results of chemical experiment teaching reform in these nine universities. E9 recognized the “Excellence Cup” as a national contest.
The TJU teams were led by Liu Changlong, the party secretary of the School of Science and Tang Xiangyang, the vice president of the school.
