Twin Sisters to Pursue Dreams Together at Tianjin University

Among the freshmen in 2019, there are two girls that look alike. They are twins who went to the same high school and are now the freshmen of Tianjin University’s College of Management and Economics (CoME). The elder sister is Jun-ying Kong and the younger sister is Sai-ying Kong. This year, the elder sister earned 660 points while the younger sister earned 668 points in the college entrance examination. The twins, who grew up in Tianjin, have never been separated, so they chose to go to the same university, Tianjin University.

When asked how they felt when they received the admission letter from Tianjin University (TJU), the twins said they were overjoyed. They learned that TJU was one of the first four universities in China to establish a college of management, which provides a broad platform for management and economics disciplines to develop and grow. “We hope to fulfill our dreams of becoming managerial talents in the future.” The sisters said.

As twins, they have much in common. They like dancing, and watching TV shows and movies. They also like reading, running and walking. “We push each other to become better selves in daily life and in study since we see each other as competitors and want to get the upper hand,” the two laughed when they recalled how they managed to obtain such excellent grades in the college entrance examination.

The twins' parents also play a vital role in their growth. “My mother is a serious person. She is strict with us and takes good care of us.” Jun-ying Kong said. “Our father always tells us to be optimistic. He works very hard to support the family.” The twins are very grateful for their parents’ hard work.

The twins are also full of expectations for their new college life. "I am a social person and look forward to taking part in various activities in the university." said Jun-ying. For Sai-ying, she was excited about making friends with students from all over the country and even with international students. “As we learnt, CoME is very active in international collaborations. We will cherish the chance to see more about the world and broaden our horizons.” Sai-ying believed that with a clear goal and willingness to act, one can get what one wants.
