TJU Professor Zhang Wei Becomes New President of CSAMSE Conference

In July, the 12th Chinese Scholars Association for Management Science and Engineering(CSAMSE)Conference took place in Chengdu. Professor Zhang Wei from Tianjin University’s College of Management and Economics (CoME) became the new chairman of the series of this conference (six-year term).

The CSAMSE international annual conference was initiated in 2007 by a group of famous overseas Chinese management science and engineering scholars. It aimed to actively promote the development of management theory and practice in China by connecting management science and engineering scholars at home and abroad and connecting industry and academia. In the past 12 years, it has rapidly developed into one of the most internationalized and standardized academic conferences in this field held in mainland China, greatly promoting the worldwide exchange and cooperation of Chinese scholars in the field of management science and engineering.

The College of Management and Economics in TJU has always been an important supporting unit in all the previous CSAMSE annual conferences. It successfully hosted the fourth CSAMSE international conference in 2011. Several alumni and officers of the college have been serving as the secretary general, deputy secretary general and officers in the CSAMSE series. This year, Professor Ma Shoufeng, the party secretary of the college, attended the conference as a special guest, and awarded the Best Paper Prize winner.

Professor Zhang Wei had been a member of the Program Committee of previous CSAMSE annual conferences. In 2017, he was awarded "CSAMSE Outstanding Contribution Award" at the 10th international conference and the 10th anniversary celebration of the CSAMSE.
