In order to promote the cooperation between Chinese and French Engineering Education institutions, on the fifth anniversary of its founding, Tianjin International Engineering Institute (TIEI) held a Sino-French Education Teaching Seminar under the Emerging Engineering Education Background on June 24th.
Chen Guanyi, Dean of TIEI chaired the seminar. Representatives from six Sino-European education institutes and He Yuanyuan,Senior Manager of Tata Consultancy Services (China) Co.,Ltd attended the meeting.
The seminar focused on three topics, the obstacles Sino-French educational cooperation faces and the means to solve them, coordinated methods of Sino-French engineering educational cooperation, and engineer education enlightenment by emerging engineering education”.
During his opening remarks, Chen Guanyi pointed out that as the experimental area of emerging engineering education and teaching reform at Tianjin University, TIEI initiated the seminar, hoping to share experiences with similar institutes and come up with new development ideas and action guidance for future cooperation.
Guan Jing, Vice Dean of TIEI, introduced how the French engineer education concept was applied in Tianjin University in terms of development history, orientation and goal training system, faculty, internationalization strategy and student training system of TIEI. She pointed out that the French elite engineering talent training model provided a new perspective for the reform of engineering education.
Representatives from other institutes shared their experience.
Liu Zenglu,Party Secretory ofSJTU-Paris Tech Elite Institute of Technologypointed out that emerging engineering education involves the digitalization and informatization of traditional engineering, which improves the pattern of personnel training.
Xu Zhou,Party Secretory of Sino-European Institute of Aviation Engineeringintroduced the institute’s distinct industry characteristics, and its progress in course system optimization, faculty construction, training management, laboratory construction and research application.
Xu Ping,Vice Dean ofSino-French Engineer School of Beihang University shared their explorations in internationalization and faculty building. Based on the Sino-French educational cooperation in the emerging engineering education background, Wang Haoping,Vice Dean ofSino-French Engineer School ofNanjingUniversity of Science and Technologyput forward his opinions and suggestions on system integration, scientific research cooperation and international resources. Liu Jianyong, Party Secretary of Sino-European School of Shanghai University Technology analyzed the problems Sino-French cooperation faced and proposed his vision for future development.
