5th International Conference on Sustainable Chemical Product and Process Engineering Held

From June 30 to July 3, 2019, the 5th International Conference on Sustainable Chemical Product and Process Engineering was held in Tianjin. The conference was hosted by Tianjin University and lasted four days, with nearly 500 participants from 15 countries and regions on 6 continents.

The opening ceremony of the meeting was chaired by Professor Yinlun Huang from Wayne State University, USA. Ma Xinbin, Dean of the TJU School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, warmly welcomed the guests on behalf of the organizers of the conference. Subsequently, Professor Yuan Yingjin, Vice-President of Tianjin University, and Professor Ignacio Grossmann, Chairman of the Academic Committee of Carnegie Mellon University, delivered speeches on behalf of the sponsor, Tianjin University and the United States Foundation Committee.

The theme of this conference is "New Pathways towards Sustainable Product and Process Engineering". A total of 10 conference reports were arranged, including Professor Ignacio Grossmann, Associate Editor of the AIChE Journal, Professor Han Buxing, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Yuan Yingjin, Vice President of Tianjin University.

In addition, 46 conference reports, 4 invitation reports, 100 oral reports and 80 posters were arranged at the conference. The reports cover important research directions for renewable energy systems and supply chains, biomass conversion, fine chemical innovation and sustainability, fossil energy and sustainable production.

The conference selected six best student oral presentation awards and eight best wall poster awards from all reports. In order to thank the volunteers for their outstanding contributions during the conference, the conference also commended ten outstanding volunteers.
