TJU Issues New Version of Postgraduate Admission Letter

Recently, Tianjin University released the “upgraded version” of the postgraduate admission letter.

The new letter design is full of Chinese characteristics and Tianjin University style. For example, the outside of the letter took an ancient theory of "a square earth and spherical heavens" as its design motif. With its shape like an ancient Chinese book, the cover applies a “window” design, through which the student’s name and the TJU logo may be seen, giving a strong visual impact. The inside notice is typeset vertically and reproduces the classic pattern of “the first university diploma in China” of Peiyang University, the predecessor of Tianjin University. It is like a well-crafted Chinese instrument, which makes people fond of it.

Ye Jianxing, a senior student from the TJU School of Architecture, designed the letter. When explaining his design Ye Jianxing stated “My inspiration came from the excitement I felt when I opened the admission letter and eagerly looked for my name and ‘Tianjin University’”.

“I hope that the first thing that the students see when they open the letter is their name and their university. It will make them feel a sense of belonging and a deep sense of pride,” he said.

Tianjin University’s 2019 Postgraduate Admission Letters were recently sent out. The Doctoral Admission Letters are expected to be mailed later this month.
