Tianjin University Research Institute of Architectural Design and Urban Planning (AATU) is closely aligned with national development strategies, from "the Belt and Road Initiatives" to the Xiongan New Area.
Contributing towards the Belt and Road Initiatives, in the north, AATU designed the “Pearl of the Belt and Road”; the Xinjiang Huoerguosi Culture and Sports Center, and established AATU’s “Xinjiang Silk Road Design Center” and the “Xinjiang Impression Planning and Design Center”. In the south, AATU won the bidding for the startup project of “Guangzhou Financial City”. In addition, in the Quanzhou City and Zhangzhou City areas, AATU has been planning the implementation of urban and architectural designs for multiple projects.

Tianjin University Research Institute of Architectural Design and Urban Planning (AATU) was jointly founded by the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tianjin University and Tianjin University City Planning and Design Institute which were established in 1952 and was the first design institute among the national universities. Currently AATU has more than 814 people, doing architectural design, city planning, engineering consulting, repair ancient buildings and cultural relics protection planning, tourism planning, landscape design and nine other national qualifications.
