Recently, the 20th Conference on Process Integration, Modelling and Optimization for Energy Saving and Pollution Reduction (PRES'17) was co-hosted by Tianjin University, the Hebei University of Technology and the China Petrochemical Corporation and held in Tianjin.
PRES’17 is a global annual conference which aims at academic research and communication on energy saving and pollution reduction in industrial processes. The conference is an influential platform for international academic communication, and is of great significance in academic and industry fields.
At the opening ceremony, Academician Wang Jiming of the Chinese Academy of Engineering said: “Large scale and fast-growing process industry has become a pillar industry in China, and accounts for 22% of GDP. Process integration and optimization, especially energy saving is in great demand in China. The communication between Chinese process system engineering and international counterparts will be effectively strengthened, and Chinese process industry technology will be improved through this conference.” The Conference on Process Integration, Modelling and Optimization for Energy Saving and Pollution Reduction is mainly held in European countries, and the 20th conference is first held in China. 380 delegates from 45 countries participated in this conference, over 100 of whom were from Chinese mainland universities and research institutes. More than 500 papers were received, and 350 were adopted and reported by the Conference.
