Yang Liuqing New Year Pictures Exhibition Opened at Tianjin University

On September 18, an exhibition of Yang Liuqing New Year Pictures was opened at Zheng Dong Library in the Peiyang Park Campus, Tianjin University (TJU). The exhibition, aiming to demonstrate the beauty of Chinese New Year paintings and also to add to the immense joy brought by the 13th National Games held in Tianjin last month, offered a real feast of competitive sports and fine arts.

The exhibition was divided into three parts, each featuring a theme, namely “Participating in the 13th National Games Makes Life More Colorful”, “Playing a Role in the Games and Chasing your Dreams in Tianjin” and “More Sports, More Happiness”. The New Year Prints on display manifested the spirit of the National Games, spread the concept of “National Games for People’s Health in China.”

Since being approved by the Ministry of Education in 2016 as a base for promoting outstanding Chinese culture, TJU’s Yangliuqing Woodcut New Year Painting Cultural and Artistic Heritage Base, rooted in TJU featuring “Strengthening the nation by developing education”, has served as an open platform for the inheritance of outstanding traditional Chinese culture and Tianjin-Tang’gu culture. During the exhibition, some intricately carved New Year woodcuts not only offered visitors a glimpse of outstanding Chinese culture, but also demonstrated and promoted the great spirit of the National Games.
