On November 29, the "China Enterprises Going Global Summit: Global Expansion and International Talent Cultivation in Service of the BRI Development" was held at Tianjin Tiankai Heping Park.
The forum brought together leading experts and representatives from the corporate and academic sectors to conduct in-depth discussions around two core themes: "Strategic Upgrading of Global Expansion" and "Innovation in International Talent Cultivation." This event was organized by the Business Administration discipline of Tianjin University's College of Management and Economics (CoME), co-organized by Tiankai Heping Park, and jointly coordinated with the Tianjin State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC). More than 200 participants attended, including representatives from Tianjin SASAC-affiliated enterprises, corporate partners of CoME, faculty, students, and alumni, fostering a vibrant atmosphere of on-site exchange.
Professor Mao Zhaofang, Party Secretary of CoME, delivered the opening address at the forum. He emphasized that CoME closely integrates its mission - "We develop leaders with fact-based thinking, innovative spirit and social awareness through the creation, application, dissemination and integration of management, economics and engineering knowledge" with serving the national strategy of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Through practical teaching systems such as the "Silk Road Special Class" in Business Administration, which enrolls students from BRI partner countries, and the "Project-Based Internship" program, CoME aims to cultivate bridge-type, and hub-type international management talent to connect China with BRI partner nations, thereby supporting Chinese enterprises in achieving high-quality "global expansion, deep localization, and upward development." The opening ceremony was presided over by He Zhen, Academician of the International Academy for Quality and Chair Professor at Tianjin University.
During the "Introduction of the Silk Road Special Class and Appreciation Plaque Presentation Ceremony" segment, Professor Zheng Chundong, Vice Dean of CoME, introduced the development of the "Silk Road" international student special class for BRI partner countries. Subsequently, CoME presented plaques to two enterprises, Tianjin Jingwei Hengrun and Tianjin New Oriental, designating them as College-Enterprise Practice Bases. Additionally, letters of appreciation were presented to representatives from multiple partner organizations, including Bohai Huijin, Zhonghuan Information Industry Group, Tiankai Park, Bank of Tianjin, and Tianjin Golden Arches (McDonald's).
In the keynote presentation segment, corporate leaders shared insights based on their practical experience in global operations and forward-looking perspectives on industrial development. Presenters included Wang Huiwen, Vice President and Global Chief Quality Officer for PCs and Smart Devices of Lenovo Group; Li Kang, Vice President of Chery Group; Xie Gengxi, former Head of HR Digital Products at Sany Group Co., Ltd.; and Zhang Peng, Deputy General Manager of COOEC International Co., Limited.
During the roundtable forum, participants engaged in in-depth dialogue on topics including cross-border e-commerce, platform-based globalization, global engineering projects, and supply chain collaboration. Contributors included Han Yue, Head of Alibaba International Station (Tianjin Region); Zhang Li, Co-founder of SEAlink (a subsidiary of Xingyun Group); Zhang Yi, Co-founder and CGO of Zhonghe Group; and Professor Zhang Shuibo, Dean of the School of International Project Management. Their discussions provided attendees with rich practical insights and research inspiration.
This forum was distinctly characterized by the deep integration of "Industry, Academia, and Research," systematically addressing the practical challenges and opportunities faced by Chinese enterprises during global expansion. It established a high-level platform for exploring intelligent, internationalized, and sustainable new pathways for going global. Following the forum, Business Administration students presented the interim outcomes of their "Project-Based Internship" to attending guests, internship enterprise leaders, and corporate mentors.
The CoME has comprehensively rolled out the "One Department, Multiple Enterprises" College-enterprise partnership model, expanding from one-to-one to one-to-many collaborations. By Leveraging the disciplinary strengths and professional characteristics of management and economics, the College has enhanced department-enterprise alignment and cross-sector cooperation, creating a new integrated development pattern of industry and education. This comprehensive, multi-layered "Multiple Departments, Multiple Enterprises" model builds a bridge between the College and industry.
In the future, CoME will further deepen cooperation with the government, enterprises, and various sectors of society. It will continue to advance innovations in international talent cultivation models supported by digitalization and artificial intelligence, contributing more "Tianjin Strength" and "TJU Wisdom" to help Chinese enterprises achieve higher-quality global expansion and sustainable development under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
