ACWA Power Delegation Visits Tianjin University to Boost Energy Cooperation

On November 25, Mr. Thomas Altmann, Executive Vice President for Innovation & New Technology at ACWA Power, led a delegation on a visit to Tianjin University (TJU). Vice President Ming Dong met with the guests at the Peiyangyuan campus.

Vice President Ming Dong extended a warm welcome to Mr. Altmann and his delegation. He provided an overview of TJU's history and its disciplinary strengths. Ming highlighted the solid cooperative foundation already established between the University's School of Chemical Engineering and Technology and ACWA Power in areas such as hydrogen production via water electrolysis and membrane materials. He expressed the hope to deepen joint research in green hydrogen, catalytic materials, and new battery systems, aiming to further facilitate the translation of scientific research achievements into practical applications. Furthermore, Ming looked forward to potential collaboration on talent exchange and internship programs, working together to cultivate young talents equipped with a global perspective and innovative capabilities for the industry.

Mr. Thomas Altmann expressed his gratitude for the reception and spoke highly of TJU's robust research capabilities in the energy technology sector. He introduced ACWA Power's global footprint in renewable energy and the hydrogen industry, outlining the company's investment plans in China for the coming years. Mr. Altmann conveyed his expectation for TJU to become a key R&D partner, working jointly to push technological boundaries and achieve breakthrough progress. He noted that TJU's profound heritage, combined with the solid existing foundation for collaboration, inspires confidence in achieving mutual success in the fields of new energy and sustainable development.

During their visit, the ACWA Power delegation toured the History Museum of the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology and engaged in scientific research discussions with faculty members from the School.

Officials from TJU's Office of International Affairs and the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology attended the meeting.
