Celebrating 25 TJU Scholars on Clarivate’s Highly Cited Researchers 2025 List

We’re delighted to share that 25 Tianjin University scholars have been named to Clarivate’s Highly Cited Researchers 2025 list—placing TJU 9th among mainland Chinese universities and matching last year’s strong performance.

This recognition highlights the growing global impact of TJU research and the teamwork that powers it. Our honorees work across chemistry, materials science, and especially cross-disciplinary fields—where 18 of the 25 awardees are making connections that spark new ideas. Five are recognized in chemistry and two in materials science.

Each year, Clarivate’s Highly Cited Researchers list shines a light on scientists whose publications are among the top 1% most cited in their fields. In 2025, 6,868 scientists (7,131 entries) from over 1,300 institutions in 60 countries and regions were included. Scholars from mainland China accounted for 1,406 entries—20% of the total—with the Chinese Academy of Sciences leading all institutions worldwide with 258 entries.
