Lin Songhua, founder and chairman of Xiamen Yingqu Technology and a distinguished alumnus of Tianjin University, delivered a heartfelt speech at the university's 130th anniversary ceremony. He called on fellow alumni and students to uphold the values of love, perseverance, and dedication that define the spirit of Tianjin University.
Lin expressed his belief that love is the greatest secret of success, emphasizing that genuine commitment begins with love for one’s family and alma mater and extends to society as a whole. Reflecting on his own journey, he recalled donating his first part-time earnings as a student to help a classmate in need. That simple gesture marked the beginning of his lifelong devotion to philanthropy.
In 2013, Lin established the Chunshui Love Foundation, the first private non-public foundation in Xiamen, which has supported more than 1,300 students from low-income families. In 2021, he donated 313 million yuan to Tianjin University and pledged continued support for its long-term development, aiming to contribute a total of 613 million yuan as a symbol of gratitude and continuity.
Lin also highlighted the close collaboration between Yingqu Technology and Tianjin University in fields such as AIoT, synthetic biology, and brain-computer interfaces. Through joint laboratories and research institutes, the partnership has advanced the integration of innovation, education, and industry.
Concluding his remarks, Lin encouraged the Tianjin University community to carry forward its pioneering spirit and contribute to society with conviction and gratitude. “Supporting my alma mater is one of life’s greatest honors,” he said. “May Tianjin University’s 130th anniversary open a new chapter of enduring glory.”
