2025 Basketball Summer Camp Concludes in Tanchang

From July 8 to 16, the 2025 Basketball Summer Camp, organized by the Department of Physical Education at Tianjin University, was held in Tanchang County, Gansu Province.

The camp was led by a teaching team composed of four professional basketball instructors and three elite basketball players from Tianjin University. It reached four local schools in Tanchang, and attracted over 80 middle and primary school students.

The basketball summer camp fostered students' physical fitness, collaborative spirit, and ability to embrace competition and challenges through a three-dimensional training model combining skill development, practical gameplay, and team-building activities.

Han Qinghua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Tianjin University, stated: "Tianjin University will continue to deepen cooperation with local communities, expand educational support models, and promote high-quality resources to empower rural revitalization, helping young people achieve all-around development."

"It was incredibly rewarding to see the children progress from being afraid to handle the ball to successfully completing a three-step layup. Their growth gave me a strong sense of accomplishment." Said Zhang Xiaoman, one of the elite female basketball players from Tianjin University.

Chen Jie, a PE teacher at Tanchang No. 2 Middle School, remarked after observing the teaching session: "Through this summer camp, the students have learned to think from others’ perspectives and to work as a team. This kind of spirit is more precious than any technical improvement. The teaching team from Tianjin University has shown me the broader possibilities of sports education."
