Professor Wang Gengsheng from the Center for Applied Mathematics at Tianjin University has been invited to deliver a keynote address at the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) 2026. The ICM official website recently announced the list of speakers, and Professor Wang has been selected to present in the Control Theory and Optimization session.
A leading expert in the field, Professor Wang currently serves on the editorial boards of prestigious journals, including the SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization and ESAIM: Control, Optimisation and Calculus of Variations.
When asked about how he makes his academic achievements, Professor Wang mentioned valuable guidance from colleagues around the world, his consistent efforts and optimism. "I want to express my sincere gratitude to the Center for Applied Mathematics at Tianjin University, for providing a supportive and stimulating academic environment that has been essential to my research journey.”Said Professor Wang.
