Kaifeng Research Institute of Tianjin University

This institute currently does not have an official website, and its English name is not readily available online. Based on the naming conventions of other institutes, it is suggested to refer to it as theKaifeng Research Institute of Tianjin University.

Founded on October 23, 2018, the Kaifeng Research Institute serves as an innovation platform for industry-university-research cooperation between Tianjin University and the City of Kaifeng in Henan Province. By leveraging Kaifeng's geographical advantages and Tianjin University's academic strengths, the institute aligns its initiatives with the innovation demands of Kaifeng's economy as well as the overall development strategy of the Zhongyuan Economic Zone. It aims to establish a collaborative innovation platform for advanced technology and the training of applied engineering talents, maintaining international standards and fostering close cooperation among government, industry, academia, and research institutions. This initiative seeks to act as a catalyst for transformation and upgrading in the economic development of Kaifeng City, ultimately leading to the growth of technology industries within the region.

The institute has initiated the construction of five scientific research platforms, including the Advanced Steel Structure Research Center, Automotive Parts and Components Research Center, Cultural and Creative Industry Research Center, Intelligent Robotics Research Center, and Instrumentation and Biomedical Engineering Research Center. It has also received approval as a new type of R&D institution in Henan Province. With an established research team, the institute is poised to develop a talent cultivation base in Kaifeng and actively introduce academician workstations, postdoctoral programs, and other high-level scientific research institutions.
