The Tianjin University Innovation Research Institute is a joint investment between Tianjin University and the Jinnan District government. Its mission is to serve regional scientific and technological innovation and economic development, to promote the industrialization of scientific and technological achievements, and to leverage the strengths of Tianjin University's academic disciplines and talent, as well as the resources and advantages of Jinnan District's location.
The Institute aims to establish a first-class R&D and transformation base for scientific research outcomes, functioning as an incubator for high-tech enterprises and a center for talent training.
The Institute has established six R&D centers in collaboration with 11 listed companies and leading enterprises. It has successfully attracted 14 technology-based enterprises in sectors such as oceanography, ecology and environmental science, aerospace, artificial intelligence, and electronic materials. In the future, the Institute will focus on marine engineering research, driving innovative developments in marine science and technology in the new era.
