When: 12:30 p.m., Friday, September 15
Where: Rixin Study, Fourth Floor, Zheng Dong Library, Peiyang Park Campus
Lecturer: Ji Chunning
About the Lecture:
The July 1, 2005 issue of Science published a list of 125 important questions in science. One of them is ‘Can we develop a general theory of the dynamics of turbulent flows and the motion of granular materials? ’ With the fast development of computing technology, numerical simulation dominates the research of turbulent flow and its effects on the dynamic behavior of inertia particles. From micro- to meso-scopic point of view, this lecture tries to answer what is the driving force of discrete particle’s entrainment? How the turbulence coherent structures interact with discrete particles? And what is the statistical features of discrete particles’ motion in turbulent boundary layer?
