Thai Parliamentary Delegation Visits Tianjin University

On May 14, 2025, a delegation led by Wayo Assawarungruang, Chair of the Committee on Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of the Thai House of Representatives, visited Tianjin University. The delegation was accompanied by Liu Zhenning, President of the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Tianjin, and representatives from the Tianjin Foreign Affairs Office.

Vice President Ming Dong received the delegation at the Weijin Road Campus, joined by officials from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the School of International Education, and the School of Architecture.

Ming Dong extended a warm welcome to the guests and introduced the university’s history, academic strengths, and international collaborations. He highlighted the longstanding partnership between Tianjin University and Thai institutions and outlined upcoming activities marking the 50th anniversary of China–Thailand diplomatic ties in 2025. He suggested both parties to expand cooperation in fields such as health, low-carbon development, heritage preservation, and ecological landscapes, through joint programs and academic workshops.

Wayo expressed gratitude to Tianjin University for the hospitality and spoke highly of the visit. He praised the university’s legacy, scientific innovation, and interdisciplinary medical-engineering programs. He acknowledged the achievements of current collaborations and expressed interest in further expanding cooperation to promote the advancement of higher education in both countries.
