2022 "Global TJU" Held

On September 29, Tianjin University held the opening ceremony of the 2022 Global TJU. Executive Vice President of the University Hu Wenping attended the event and delivered a speech. The opening ceremony consisted of four parts, including speeches, signing of cooperation agreements, introduction of cooperation projects and sharing by overseas students.

During the event, Tianjin University signed/renewed 6 student projects and MOU agreements with the University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the University of Bristol, the University College Dublin and Brunel University London.

Representatives from the five universities expressed hope to steadily promote student exchange, joint training and cooperation, and extended best wishes for Tianjin University’s 127th anniversary.

This was followed by presentations of project leaders from 17 institutions including Campus France, Eurasia-Pacific Uninet, the University of Cambridge, the University of Bristol, Lund University, RWTH Aachen University, the University of Toulouse, KU Louvain, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Georgia Tech Shenzhen Institute, the University of British Columbia, the University of California, Irvine, Chulalongkorn University, the Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

After the presentations, Tianjin University students who are studying overseas shared their overseas studies and life experience online, hoping students could pay attention to exchange and study opportunities abroad and actively participate in various projects. They also expressed their gratitude to alma mater Tianjin University and wished TJU a happy 127th birthday.

During the event, Tianjin University’s Executive Vice President Hu Wenping stated in his speech that Openness and cooperation is one of the educational philosophies of Tianjin University. At present, TJU has established strategic partnerships with 258 universities, research institutes and companies in 50 countries and regions around the world, providing a large international platform for academic cooperation, educational exchanges, talent training and community services. These programs have greatly broadened students' international horizons, enhanced their cross-cultural understanding and international communication skills, and nurtured a large number of compound, high-level, globally competent and innovative talents. He hoped that students could actively participate in the series activities of Global TJU and achieve rapid growth and bright future.

This year’s Global TJU will continue to organize a series of activities covering 5 parts, includingimportant conferences, overseas study and internships, academic lectures, global competency development and cultural exchange activities. The series will provide a variety of international exchange opportunities and build a high-quality international platform for students.
