Twin Brothers Admitted to Tianjin University Together

August 23, 2017 witnessed twin brothers arrive at Tianjin University (TJU) as freshmen. They registered at the same time. The twin brothers from Liaoning Province are Manchu, the elder named ‘Liu Zijian’ and the younger ‘Liu Zikang’, implying the good wishes of ‘jiankang’, which literally means ‘health’. Both of them did excellently in the College Entrance Examination, scoring 647 and 649, and being admitted into the School of Microelectronics and the School of Electrical and Information Engineering of Tianjin University respectively. As for the reason they chose TJU, the elder brother said, ‘We did not want to go to the south, so TJU is a good university to study in.’

Born in 1998, the twin brothers were always in the same class from primary school to senior high school. In school life, they are both top students; in private life, they are bosom friends. In the younger brother’s words, they’re ‘the same kind of people from the same world’. They live together and has been accustomed to taking care of each other. Even though sometimes disagreements may appear, they reconcile them immediately. In the university, they will not live in the same dormitory anymore for they chose different majors. The younger brother Liu Zikang said, “We still can have meals and sports together, but I’m happy we will have our own circle of friends. It’s awesome to know more friends.”
